You'll still be able to open recently read messages and to compose over a flaky, or non-existent, network connection. All this is achieved with aggressive caching and by leveraging new browser technologies, like HTML 5 and Gears.

    <br />I suggest taking a look at Berry Gerber's article over at Tom's Hardware.com in which he describes the netbook from ASUS ( Eee PC 1000HE) which has the capabilities and usability for business users. I believe that the combination of economic challenge in today's business environment with the technology trend of Software as a Service (SaaS) and better Internet connectivity means businesses must review the needs and balance the laptop cost per user to overall business IT cost.

    Dell's Mini 9 Netbook is being sold at rock bottom prices to make way for the new Dell Mini 10 which has a 10" screen a larger keyboard, and a 160GB hard drive making it much more competitive with the leaders Asus and MSI products. I have seen the Mini 9 with XP Home OS on Walmart's SamClub's website for $249 delivered and choice of color (a $30 adder from Dell).
