In my first article laptop travel checklist I focused on traveling as an individual and what you should bring with you to make life easier.

This article focuses on what to bring when you are working with group of people while traveling. In that case you need to think more about group communications, connectivity, and privacy.

Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bag Policy

  • Your laptop bag has a designated laptop-only section that you can lay flat on the X-ray belt
  • There are no metal snaps, zippers or buckles inside, underneath or on-top of the laptop-only section
  • There are no pockets on the inside or outside of the laptop-only section
  • There is nothing in the laptop compartment other than the laptop
  • You have completely unfolded your bag so that there is nothing above or below the laptop-only section, allowing the bag to lie flat on the X-ray belt

  • Before you leave phone ahead to your hotel and confirm that you will be able to make a modem/analog call from your room. Also ask which type of phone plug the hotel uses. If it is not the US RJ-11 standard, then be sure to take an international phone plug kit with you. These kits can be  obtained from a local computer store.
