Before you leave phone ahead to your hotel and confirm that you will be able to make a modem/analog call from your room. Also ask which type of phone plug the hotel uses. If it is not the US RJ-11 standard, then be sure to take an international phone plug kit with you. These kits can be obtained from a local computer store.
