Netbooks Get New Operating System - Chrome

Google announced that they will be providing Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.  Google is already talking to partners about the project, and we'll soon be working with the open source community.

GMail Mobile WebApp or Mail Client?

Gmail announced improvements made to Gmail for mobile, running in the iPhone and Android web browser only. First, you'll notice that it's a lot faster when performing actions like opening an email, navigating, or searching and if the data network drops out on you,  Gmail won't. You'll still be able to open recently read messages and to compose over a flaky, or non-existent, network connection. All this is achieved with aggressive caching and by leveraging new browser technologies, like HTML 5 and Gears.
